The Concept
This styled wedding shoot was designed and organized by Brittany Eagans, Principal Wedding Planner at BeWed. Brittany drew inspiration for this country club wedding from “all things Southern.” She drew visual elements from famed fashion designer Ralph Lauren, as well as from scenes at the Kentucky Derby. Brittany explained, “We wanted to keep it fun and chic, so we mixed pastel florals with playful striped linen accents in order to create a refined look that would add a touch of ‘wow’ against the timeless, stone backdrop of The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club.”
Fun fact: Our bride and groom, McKenna and Max, are engaged IRL! This styled shoot turned out to be a ‘test drive’ of sorts for McKenna and Max, who got to work along side both their wedding planner and photographer, prior to their real wedding day!
Speaking of the photos, Shauna and Jordon Photography are the masterminds behind the lovelies that you see below. We could tell you about how Shauna and Jordon are nationally published (of course they are!), or we could rave about their light and airy aesthetic (which is absolutely dreamy!)…but quite frankly, here is a pro tip on what actually matters when you’re selecting your photographer: 1) They care about you personally; and 2) They are fantastic communicators. Shauna and Jordon check those two boxes and so much more!!!
The Location
This styled wedding was shot on the grounds of The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in picturesque Lakewood Ranch, Florida. The golf club is an extension of The Ritz-Carlton Sarasota and is located on located on 315 acres of lush, tropical landscape that features romantic lakes and elevation changes throughout. The Club (as the ladies and gentlemen of The Ritz-Carlton refer to it), is the quintessential intersection of Southern hospitality and the Florida lifestyle; it is where “palm meets pine” and where mint juleps go to be perfected. Making an Entrance (and an Exit)
Our bride and groom were chauffeured to and from their faux wedding in a jet black, 1947 Cadillac Series 62 Sedan provided by Revvies Luxury Transportation (us!).
Back in the 1940s, Cadillac was considered to be “The Standard of the World.” In fact, Cadillacs were the preferred mode of transportation for Bing Crosby, Howard Hughes, and President Truman. Other well known Caddy-loving celebs include Elvis and Marilyn Monroe! Despite being over 70 years young, our ultra-luxe Cadillac is still beloved by today’s social elite, having been fully restored even beyond its original glory!
For this shoot, our ‘47 Caddy was positioned under The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club’s porte-cochère and dressed to the nines with extravagant florals by Flowers by Fudgie and vintage luggage outfitted by So Staged. The result was nothing short of Pinterest GOLD!
